Uber has been quickly dominating and revolutionising the global transport model in the world with it’s convenient app and professional service, and the company has now brought its low-cost UberX option to Johannesburg.
UberX is aimed to be a more cost-efficient experience, but still providing the bells and whistles that Uber delivers, such as being able to see the driver’s details who is picking you up, as well as a GPS map on your phone while in the car.
The pricing for UberX includes a base fare of R5 and a minumum fare of R20, with the fare per km being R7.50 and fare per minute being R0.75, making it a cheap alternative to the company’s usual Uber experience.
The cost would put a trip from UJ to Newtown between R20 and R36, and a trip from the Sandton CBD to the airport between R195-R300.
The company will be using Toyota’s Corolla and Avanza models for the UberX experience.
New and existing users can enjoy FREE uberX rides from now until 23h00 on Sunday, 17 August.
