SA Shoe Company Brings Classic Style And Quality At Affordable Prices

Locally-made footwear aims to bring out the adventure in you.

In SA, we tend to gravitate towards the intentional brands when it comes to robust and fashionable kicks, but a South African company is mixing that up by providing stylish, tough, and sustainable shoes that not only deliver quality and comfort, but also have a South African flair to them.

Katu Vellies are not your average brand of shoe, as they’re described as a “companion on the road and catalyst of new experiences”, and with just one look at them, we have to agree.

The shoes are based with the traditional South African vellies in mind. Made with full-grain leather, the shoes are not only tough, but swanky too.

There are two models available – the Roadie (R650), which features a low-top and is the perfect everyday shoe, and the Traditional (R650), the minimalist high-top boot design is built to last.

The locally-produced shoes are all unique and originally made by South Africans for South Africans, which helps promote empowerment and jobs with local artisans.

As mentioned earlier, there’s also an element of sustainability to Katu Vellies. The bovine leather that is used is a by-product of other industries, the dyes are natural and the company also ensures that what it does doesn’t have a negative impact on the environment.

Check out more on Katu Vellies here, and if you’re looking to pick up a pair, Katu Vellies are available from their online store.

Looks like a nice shoe. I would so love to have a pair, but unfortunately they don’t stock my size. Having a big foot is NOT a good thing…in any way
