Things in SA can seem pretty grim at times, but there’s no denying the beauty, incredible people, and diversity our great country has to offer. Not to mention that we have one of the cheapest beer cities in the world. Winning!
Travel comparison site, GoEuro, has released its annual Beer Price Index for 2016, and the Republic’s Mother City features quite highly on the list.
In fact, third! Just under Kiev in the Ukraine and Bratislava in Slovakia, which tops the list this year.
The list, which compares the average price of local beers between bars and shops, as well as comparing yearly average purchasing and consumption, claims that you’ll pay around (on average) 1.87 USD (around R27.10) for a 330ml draught beer.
In terms of the most expensive, Lusanne in Switzerland comes in at 9.51 USD per 330ml draught. That’s R137.80. Let that sink in…
