Did Deadpool Just Buy a Gin Company?
Reynolds dips his toe into the gin world!
Comic-book fans and general audience members alike are probably aware of Ryan Reynolds’ affinity for the Deadpool character, along with his habit of imitating some of the masked mercenary’s characteristics off-screen, too. There’s a lot of quirky marketing for the Deadpool sequel busy happening, and Deadpool seems like the kind of guy that wouldn’t mind a cheeky G&T after wiping out a group of baddies, but…
This isn’t any left-field marketing gimmick, though – apparently Ryan Reynolds is just a genuine Aviation Gin fan, and that’s what informed his decision to get involved with and acquire a controlling interest in the company; and of course, announced this in typical Ryan Reynolds fashion:

Aviation Gin is an iconic American craft gin brand from Portland, Oregon, and gets Reynolds’ stamp of approval as the best tasting gin in the world. He won’t just be a name that gets thrown around when talking about Aviation Gin, though, he’s going to be actively involved in the business’s creative direction of the brand – so expect an uptick in their popularity with a heavyweight like him attached.
Luckily for South African gin lovers that want to sample the smooth and subtle tastes that Aviation provides, Cape Town-based Truman & Orange has brought it to South African shelves and can be found in most high quality liquor stores, as well as retailers like Makro and Pick ‘n Pay for R450 per bottle.

Don’t be too surprised if you spot Reynold’s masked vigilante taking a few sneaky sips of the actor’s favourite gin in the new movie, either!
