Whiskey enthusiasts that want to get a kuttke more familiar with spirits from the good ole US of A will have a great opportunity to participate in a day of whiskey tasting and entertainment at the end of this month, when the Proof American Whiskey Festival kicks off on the 27th of May.
House of Machines in Cape Town will be hosting the event, and they’ve built their brand on American Whiskey over the last four years, and with the increased popularity and exposure, the trendy venue has seen an opportunity to pull off a unique event, collaborating with some of the most notable names in American whiskey. Proof will be working with Jack Daniel’s, Gentleman Jack, Bulleit Bourbon, Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, and Woodford Reserve.
House of Machines has picked up on the increased popularity of American whiskeys, leading them to have Whiskey tasting evenings every Monday in May in addition to the full festival. These tastings and the festival will give an opportunity for three brands and eight different whiskeys to be showcased, so that tasters can get more information about how best to enjoy them in a great environment.
Expert brand ambassadors will be in attendance at three activation venues, House of Machines, and all their on-street bars, allowing visitors to discover authentic brands and their traditions, distilling processes, history, and of course how best to enjoy their respective whiskeys.
Those with an interest in the culinary won’t be disappointed, either, as four of Cape Town’s best chefs will be whipping up dishes with an American inspiration. Some South African acts will also be there to provide entertainment, including none other than aKing, Sannie Fox, Gerald Clark, Dave Ferguson, and Roasting Records.
The venue is at Shortmarket street, between Loop and Bree in Cape Town on the 27th of May – and tickets for designated drivers will be R180, and R300 for those looking to enjoy the whiskeys, with three cocktails included in the entry price.
