Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for its upcoming limb-tearing fighter, Mortal Kombat X, which reveals a number of new playable characters.
The new trailer shows Mileena, who commands an Outworld rebel army. The good guys, led by Cassie Cage, join forces to take her down. MKX takes place 25 years after the events of 2011’s Mortal Kombat.
New characters revealed in the trailer include Jacqueline Briggs, daughter of Jax, Takashi Takeda, son of Kenshi and Kung Jin, descendant of Kung Lao.
Meanwhile, during a stream developer NetherRealm confirmed the return of Brutalities for MKX.
A Brutality is a finishing move first introduced in the home console versions of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Previously, they involved particularly complex input commands. For MKX, however, they work differently, and are based off a special move and you can combo into them, although there are conditions that must be met during the round in order for them to be made available to perform. It’s a bit like how Babalities used to work. NetherRealm said there are over 100 Brutalities in the game.
Mortal Kombat X launches on 14th April for PlayStation 4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
