Eager space-explorers will be glad to know that Bioware’s fourth entry in the Mass Effect franchise, Mass Effect: Andromeda, will release on 23 March in Europe on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, meaning us down here in the Republic should get it around then.
The release date was announced at a keynote speech at CES 2017, which has kicked off this week in Las Vegas.
“We appreciate your patience (and in fact, even your lack of patience in some instances) as we’ve been focused on completing the game,” said Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare.
Flynn concluded: “We’re just a couple of months away from delivering a brand new Mass Effect experience to you for the first time in five years – richer, deeper and ready for exploration. We’re excited about how far we are going with the franchise, and we hope you find it’s been worth the wait.”
And to top off the news of the release date, a brand new Nvidia GeForce exclusive gameplay trailer from CES has been released, showing off new environments.
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, players will take on the role of Ryder (who can be male or female, depending on your decision). Ryder is a Pathfinder, who’s tasked with leading humanity’s search for a new home in the uncharted and unforgiving region of an entirely new galaxy as part of the Andromeda Initiative (hence the game’s name).
