Arguably the scariest looking game of the year drops this month, and a brand new trailer has been released to introduce you to the nightmares that await in The Evil Within.
Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami served as the The Evil Within‘s director, and the story follows veteran police detective Sebastian Castellanos as he investigates the scene of a gruesome mass murder, finding himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead.
Thanks to limited ammunition and deadly abilities, players will seldom be able to brush off even the puniest of the game’s “Haunted” enemies. Meanwhile, players must do their best to evade The Keeper, a recurring foe with a gigantic meat tenderizer and a lockbox on his head. The Keeper’s barbed wire traps can be dismantled to craft crossbow bolts – assuming Castellanos doesn’t get tenderized in the process.
It went gold last week ahead of the release date of 14 October 14 in South Africa on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
