Microsoft’s E3 Xbox conference was expected to bring some big announcements, and the company has definitely not disappointed, revealing the next instalment in the best-selling Gears of War franchise, Gears 4.
The new entry, which will arrive exclusively on Xbox One in 2016, is in development at Black Tusk Studios (who now go as The Coalition) following Microsoft’s purchase of the third-person franchise from Epic Games.
Gears 4 (as it was referred to onstage) was announced alongside a lengthy gameplay video, which revealed two new heroes to the franchise: JD and an unnamed female lead.
The demo shows the two attempting to survive a brutal storm before encountering some mutated new creatures which haven’t been seen in the series before.
