We know there’s going to be a Call of Duty franchise entry every year, but we never know exactly what the game may be. Well, Activision has clearly been listening to the fans and has revealed that another instalment into the Black Ops spin-off is long overdue.
Revealed via a teaser trailer, the game is set to be simply called Black Ops 3, and will continue the story of arc of the first two Black Ops games.
- Zombies mode is coming back. This isn’t a huge surprise, considering both previous Black Ops games included the undead. Still, it’s an excellent additional mode that gives players something to do aside from multiplayer.
- Black Ops 3 takes place in a “dark, twisted” future where the lines between humanity and our technology are blurred. Military robotics are the core of warfare.
In its entirety, the message reads:
“Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most-played games in Call of Duty history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies, providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.”
