R999 Smartphone Launching In SA

South African-based company prepares its new dual-SIM phone for the market.

With the competition in the low-cost smartphone market in South Africa heating up, Pinnacle Africa has announced the Proline SP4 – a dual-SIM Windows phone that will retail for R999.

The phone features a 4-inch display, a quad-core Snapdragon processor, and uses the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system.

“What really sets the Proline SP4 apart from its competitors is its dual-SIM feature. Users are now free to choose how they use voice and data on their phone with the ability of having two SIMs active simultaneously and specifying which SIM is dedicated for cellular data usage,” said Pinnacle.

“It’s like having two phones in your pocket.”

The phone also features a 1,950mAh battery unit, which Pinnacle is touting as a primary feature.

“Battery life is probably the biggest criticism people have with smartphones, so we wanted to give people an extended battery as standard.”

The phone will also come with three different interchangeable covers – white, orange, and green.

The SP4 will be available from 30 January.
