After investing more and more into their Showmax and DStv Now streaming platforms, Multichoice has revealed the Streama, a new set-top box dedicated to streaming sport, movies, series, and entertainment from other apps.
The new device, which will essentially compete against other media boxes on the market, features WiFi and an ethernet port to connect to the internet, with HDMI out for a TV or monitor for viewing.
The device will be paired with a dedicated remote control, and will have 4K streaming capabilities on 4K-enabled TVs.
MultiChoice confirmed that the DStv Streama allows users to seamlessly switch between applications like DStv, Showmax, and YouTube.
According to MyBroadband, the Streama will require a DStv sign-in to work, but Multichoice is said to announce a new streaming plan in the coming months.
As for pricing and availability, Multichoice is yet to announce anything.
