The business-end of March is here, and with it comes some gaming releases to help finish off the month with a bang, including a new PS4 exclusive and a FPS package deal.
Bloodborne is set to take those who love the look, feel and gameplay of the Dark Souls franchise, but want something a little more accessible and jazzed-up, so to speak. The game features many of the RPG-style gameplay elements that the develop will give players agility and speed that will come in handy when taking on hordes or horrific creatures. Bloodborne should open up From Software’s brilliant design and creativity to a whole new slew of players.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
Borderlands is one of the most popular and well regarded franchises of the last generation. The Handsome Collection bundles up Handsome Jack’s story into one package including Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. A Gajillion guns, hilarious dialogue, loot galore and every slice of DLC packed in makes Borderlands: The Handsome Collection one of the most appealing packages in gaming and prospective owners can scoop it up on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Resident Evil Revelations 2
OK, we’ve been talking about this one for a while now, but after two delays, the latest entry into the horror-packed Resident Evil franchise arrives this week in physical form. The game will be set between the events of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. Claire Redfield will be the main protagonist and Barry Burton’s daughter Moira will play a supporting role. You’ll get the similar over-the-shoulder third-person action, along with some great puzzles and terrifying moments, and we can’t wait to get involved.
Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious
Celebrating the 3 April theatrical launch of Furious 7, a new standalone expansion will be available at no charge for a limited two-week period on Xbox One and Xbox 360 from 27 March through to 10 April. After this period, the expansion will cost, while players who downloaded it during the initial two-week window can continue to play without restriction.
For PC fans out there, new MOBA Infinite Crisis is set for launch, which will see the pick of the DC universe’s heroes and villains face off on destructive battlefields. The free-to-play game, that is supported by micro-transactions, features two squads competing in combat, while also having to deal with in-game changing catastrophic events. Each match can last up to 20 to 40 minutes and enemies have to either capture and drain Power Cores or destroy the Power Core to win the game. The four maps featured include: Crime Alley, Gotham Divided, Gotham Heights and Coast City.
Slender: The Arrival
Coming to PS4 and Xbox One, Slender: The Arrival promises ‘to send the most fearless gamers into panic as they unfold the twisted mystery in a dark, foreboding atmosphere and a story fraught with terror, paranoia and other-worldly forces’. Blue Isle Studios will bring the horror explorer to the new gen consoles in a digital-only release. The storyline focuses on a woman in search of her friend Kate, who recently has become increasingly obsessed with the folklore of Slender Man. Players must Use Kate’s forgotten flashlight to explore abandoned houses, creepy mines and dark forests to unravel the mystery – all the while being stalked by the menacing presence of Slender Man.
Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series – Episode 3
Telltale Games has been on a steady release schedule for Game of Thrones, helping build some anticipation for the next season of the HBO hit series. Telltale’s episodic series is about to hit the halfway point when the third episode releases later this week. A new trailer should help sate Game of Thrones fans until that big day arrives.
The third episode, titled “The Sword in the Darkness,” is set to release on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 tomorrow. Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will get it on Wednesday, March 25, while iOS and Android users will get it this coming Thursday.
