October has landed and we have some big movie releases hitting local cinemas this weekend, including a sci-fi survival story, a hip-hop inspired retelling, an animated sequel, and the return of Mr. Nicholas Cage.
Here are the movies releasing Friday, 2 October 2015:
Matt Damon makes his big-screen return in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi adventure, The Martian. During a manned mission to Mars, astronaut Mark Watney (Damon) is presumed dead after being caught in a fierce storm. He is left behind when the rest of the crew evacuate the planet and begin to head back to Earth. Watney finds himself stranded and alone with only a few meagre supplies on which to subsist, and using his ingenuity, wit, and spirit to find a way to signal home. Despite this, he knows that even if his survival is made known, there is no realistic prospect for a rescue.
