We ‘ve all experienced that mini heart attack you get when you realize you’ve lost something. Anthony Banuelos certainly felt this during a casual surf session at San Onofre when a wave caused his board to tip over and separated his $350 GoPro Hero Camera from his surf board.

After hours of searching, he came to the realization that he may never see his camera again. Luckily for him, this story has a happy ending, as his GoPro was found washed up on the beach by a local. Bonnie Alvarez discovered the camera during a stroll up the beach. She took the camera back home, placed the memory card into her computer and took a screen shot of the surfer’s face, which immediately went up on the local bulletin boards. Thanks to this good Samaritan, Banuelos was reunited with his GoPro.

Moral or the story? Do good things, because good things come back to you… and always put a floaty on your GoPro.

Check out the classic video of Banuelos losing his Gopro and watching it go – Glub, Glub, Glub – all the way down.
