7 Biggest Games Of July 2015

We’ve hit the midway point of 2015, and as we look ahead to the incoming game releases of June, it’s evident that there’s no massive triple-A blockbuster games on offer, but there are some explosive titles heading our way nonetheless.

Rocket League

Release date: 7 July (PS4, PC)

First up this month is Rocket League – an arena-based, futuristic vehicle sports game that will test your driving and stunting skills like never before. Take matters into your own hands in this visceral vehicle sports game. Soar high into the air to score amazing goals, perform incredible saves using the vehicles’ acrobatic abilities, and demolish enemy players at supersonic speeds. It looks like a lot of fun and sits somewhere between Twisted Metal and FIFA, and it also features some pretty crazy weapons and vehicles.

F1 2015

Release date: 10 July (PS4, Xbox One)

Codemasters is no stranger to the racing game genre, as the developer has been a veteran stalwart in the genre, and the acclaimed studio is giving us yet another formula one racing game, F1 2015. The game will use a brand new engine made almost entirely from scratch. The new engine is said to dramatically improve both screen quality and the ability of the A.I., which has been attacked by critics in the past for being unrealistic.

Rory Mcilroy PGA Tour

Release Date: 14 July (PS4, Xbox One)

EA has officially handed the torch from Tiger Woods to Rory McIlroy for their series of golf games, with this year’s Rory McIlory PGA Tour game being Rory’s debut. The franchise has been in desperate need of a resurgence, and the new look and name should deliver just that, along with some impressive graphics and smooth gameplay. If you love golf games, this is likely already on your must-buy list.

Trials Fusion Awesome Level MAX

Release date: 14 July (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

If the opportunity to play as a gun-toting cat riding a unicorn is your kind of fun, then Trials Fusion’s expansion pack, Awesome Level MAX, should be on your  radar. For those who may not know, Trials is all about navigating a physics-based motorbike through increasingly difficult levels filled with crazy obstacles, so we expect this expansion to take a more fantastical approach to the gameplay. Consider us sold.

God of War III Remastered

Release date: 15 July (PS4)

The critically-acclaimed God of War III makes its way to the PS4 this month for another bloody spin. The game has seen an upgrade though, and gameplay will be rendered in 1080p and running at 60fps, giving a new sense of speed and clarity to the god-hunting action, and the title will also include all previous DLC costumes and content.

Godzilla

Release date: 17 July (PS3, PS4)

The King of Monsters is making his way to the PS4 for the first time, and we’re not quite sure what to think about this upcoming game just yet. But if you’re into Godzilla, Mothra, and other giant creatures, you’ll be able to destroy a city (and other monsters) using any number of them. Conceptually, the game looks good, but the footage we’ve seen so far doesn’t impress, as it looks to have some technical issues. Still, we’re curious to see if the title holds any merit when it is releases this month.

King’s Quest: A Knight To Remember

Release date: 28 July (PS3, PS4), 29 July (Xbox 360, Xbox One)

King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember, the first episode in a five-part saga, will launch later this month. King’s Quest is The Odd Gentlemen’s take on the classic adventure series, following Activision’s revival of the Sierra label. The game follows the youthful adventures of King Graham, now an old man telling stories to his granddaughter. It’s also beautifully animated and will provide something quite different for those looking for a change this month.
